Laura Grant

VP, Amex Digital Labs

Laura is Vice President of Product Development in Amex Digital Labs and leads a global product team focused on developing the next generation of consumer products, membership experiences and platforms that leverage the latest advancements in AI. Key examples of current initiatives include; generative AI-powered assistants and agentic architecture, an advanced omni-channel enterprise recommendations engine, and hyper-personalized travel and lifestyle inspiration experiences.

Laura has been at Amex for 17 years and joined as part of the American Express Technology Graduate Scheme. In that time, she has taken on roles of increasing seniority and complexity and held product leadership positions in both London and New York. Notably, she was responsible for the development of the first chat and conversational AI product and platform for Amex that now services (and automates) millions of card member interactions per month across the US and 15+ international markets. She also pioneered early work on the first American Express mobile app, mobile payments infrastructure and digital wallet capabilities.

Laura graduated from the University of Sussex with a first-class honours degree in Artificial Intelligence, and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Human-Centred Computer Systems. She is based in London and is a big fan of the outdoors - hiking, running and long walks in the countryside.
