Michelle Swartz

VP, Developer Experience

Michelle Swartz is the Vice President of Developer Enablement within the Developer Experience team. Her team’s mission is to grow the best developer culture that empowers teams to focus on delivery. She helps define and implement new patterns, practices, and tooling used by the engineering community, a program called “Building Software the Amex Way." Her team provides colleague onboarding, as well as experienced engineering bootcamps. Her most recent accomplishment was rolling out GitHub Copilot to thousands of engineers.

Her team is also responsible for advocacy and community work. Highlights include enabling of internal Guilds and Communities of Technical Practice; events such as DevCon and GuildCon; facilitating an annual Technologist Sentiment Survey; managing our external facing Technology blog; and running the Open Source (OS) program office, which consists of contributions, publications, and sponsorship programs.

She loves to mentor and is passionate about helping individuals achieve their career aspirations.
